CRAEFT will employ Advanced Digitisation, Knowledge Representation, Cognitive Science, Visual and Haptic Intelligence, AI-based simulations, and Multimedia and Immersive Technologies to deepen our understanding of crafting activities across the full range of materials, techniques, tools, and products used in the past and today in a reenactable way. The goal is craft preservation, as living and developing heritage, as a sustainable source of income, and as the expression of the mind through imagery, technology, and sedimented knowledge.
